Lean Fundamentals Simulation – Hands on training designed to introduce the participant to the concepts supporting a Lean Transformation.

Value Stream Mapping - Presented to inform the participant of how Value Stream Mapping can be used as a diagnostic tool to visualize an organization's internal process flow and challenges.

Kaizen Training - Participants are taught to use the concepts of Kaizens to eliminate organizational challenges identified in the Value Stream Map.

Workplace Organization - This is a specific type of kaizen that focuses on workflow configuration throughout the workplace.

6S Training – 6S focuses on elimination of clutter in the workplace and organization to create a safer and more effective environment.

Visual Systems Training – Visual Systems eliminate confusion within the workplace by eliminating the language and cultural barriers.

Visual Work Instructions - VWI's are tools which are used, as part of the Visual System, to assist employees to consistently produce the same work content.

Inventory Control Training - Minimize the cost of materials through "right-sizing" inventory.

Kanban / Supermarket Systems Training - This is a system used to keep items and subassemblies at the required levels and ready for use.

Plant / Facility Layout Training - Trains the client on how to organize their facility in a manner that best supports continuous workflow.

Setup Reduction Training - Focuses on reducing non-value-added activities that occur during a changeover to minimize “downtime”.

Green Side of Lean

This training reviews the “Green” opportunities that are overlooked during Traditional Lean Implementations which focus on process improvement opportunities that reduce cycle time and lead time.

Green Fundamentals

A Green Enterprise produces more with existing resources by eliminating non-value added activities while reducing their environmental impacts.  Green-Lean establishes a systematic approach to eliminating these wastes and creating flow throughout the whole company.  The benefits of Green include: reduce Energy usage, reduce Water consumption and contamination, reduce Material consumption and waste, improve air quality, and improve profitability.

Green Stream Mapping

How Green is your Organization?  How can Green Opportunities be visualized?  Is there a diagnostic tool I can use?  Green Stream Mapping will answer these questions.  

This training will introduce the tools to analyze where the organization stands on the Green Continuum.  Through the development of the Green Stream Map, participants will learn how to identify Green Opportunities along their individual Value Streams.  The presentation will include the history of Lean and Green, and how to identify Conventional Waste versus Green Opportunities.  Similar to Lean, organizations need to identify and rectify their Non Value Added Green Challenges.

Green Kaizen

Green Kaizen is a term derived from the Japanese concept of Continuous Improvement.  As part of a Green Transformation, Kaizen is a tool used, in a team environment, to identify and modify “non-green” processes within an organization’s operations.  The Kaizen team will be empowered to identify green waste, and brainstorm interventions to improve the entire targeted system.

The training begins with the identification of a specific team to be trained to improve a specific process.  The team is trained on how to develop a problem statement, how to identify target metrics for the green improvement validation, brainstorming techniques on how to identify and document green opportunities, and how to convert these opportunities into actionable items.  The training continues throughout the actual project to maintain focus on the initial targeted metrics.  Reviews and corrections to the action items reinforce the learning process.  Toward the completion of the training project, the team is taught how to debrief the project, and how to sustain continuous improvement after the Green Kaizen is complete.

Energy Conservation

Many of the products and processes used every day consume more power than necessary to get the job done.  There are also many products on the market that assist in using less energy.  This training will identify the major and minor projects that can be implemented to reduce power consumption.  It will also examine alternative sources for energy savings.

Environmental Waste Reductions

Waste reduction is one of the most important environmental issues facing businesses today.  The course will review waste generation, such as paper, cardboard, food waste, metal, glass, and plastics in facilities and discuss common waste reduction and recycling opportunities that may be used to better manage this portion of the facility’s waste stream.

ISO 14001

This training is a 2-day competency-based course designed to provide students with a basic knowledge and a degree of comfort with ISO 14001:2004.  Students gain a working understanding of key environmental management concepts, such as aspect and impact identification and setting objectives and targets.  The course structure incorporates presentations and interactive discussions.  An experienced instructor explains the ISO 14000 series of standards in detail and includes auditing the requirements of the standard. Students learn by participating in group exercises and in-depth discussions.

Yellow Belt

This course is designed to provide a broad understanding of the Six Sigma improvement methodology, concepts, and language, along with a complete toolbox of basic process improvement methods applied within a Six Sigma framework, including basic Statistical Process Control Charts. The course is targeted at a wide audience of Six Sigma team members who need familiarity with the overall process and the basic process improvement tools.

Green Belt

The course is 80 hrs. in length scheduled over a period of 5 months and provides participants with enhanced problem-solving skills with an emphasis on DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control).  This training helps the employee serve as a trained team member within his or her function-specific area of the organization.

Green Belts have two primary tasks: first, to help successfully deploy LEAN and Six Sigma techniques, and second, to lead small-scale improvement projects within their respective areas.  In addition, as a support population, employees trained in Green Belt can do much of the legwork in gathering data and executing experiments in support of a LEAN Six Sigma project

Black Belt

Six Sigma “Black Belt” training is designed for people who will perform or facilitate process analysis and improvement activities including business process data collection and analysis.  Technical backgrounds and/or familiarity with basic algebra are helpful. It provides training in process analysis and improvement techniques, project management, team facilitation skills, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Designed Experiments (DOE), and Statistics. (NOTE: The entire Body of Knowledge for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) “Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)” exam is covered in this program.)

FOR CERTIFICATION: Participants seeking Six Sigma “Black Belt” certification must successfully complete and present the project details from a strategically-linked process improvement project, a Designed Experiment, and an application of Statistical Process Control. In addition, several statistical analyses are required, as well as the successful completion of a statistical tools competency exam. They must also attend all 13 days of training as well as present their projects at both a project Rehearsal / Evaluation day (where projects will be evaluated for successful completion and any pending issues identified), and a Presentation / Graduation day (where all successfully completed projects will be presented). (NOTE: Completion of a “Black Belt” project will satisfy one of the two projects required to take the ASQ “Certified Six Sigma Black Belt” exam.)

Internal Quality Auditing

This course includes hands-on practice process auditing exercises utilizing specially developed, actual QMS documentation that was designed by professional auditors to help students progressively understand and learn to develop process audit skills.  The course provides the chance to practice auditing in a controlled, classroom environment and under the guidance of internationally certified auditors and course facilitators.

Lead Auditor

This RABQSA certified course meets the training requirements for RABQSA Quality Management Systems Lead Auditors, Auditors and Provisional Auditors. This course makes extensive use of student activities and case studies to help students fully understand the requirements of auditing to the ISO 9001:2008 standard. Lecture time is held to a minimum providing student’s time to learn and then practice their newly acquired skills in real-life audit situations that assure that students are prepared to conduct effective audits. If you satisfactorily achieve the required pass points for the written examination and the required minimum grading for the continuous assessment, you will receive a "Successful Completion" certificate to demonstrate that you have met the training requirement for individual QMS auditor certification by the RABQSA. Before becoming a Lead Auditor, there are also professional requirements that must be met, including conducting a number of verifiable audits, educational requirements, workplace experience, and sponsorship.

Blueprint Reading

This class identifies the information communicated on a blueprint with emphasis on interpreting the part drawing. The following Subjects are covered: Objectives; What Is a Blueprint?; Blueprint Contents; Orthographic Drawing; Blueprint Drawing Views; Auxiliary and Section Views; Types of Section Views; Object and Hidden Lines; Extension, Dimension, and Leader Lines; Center and Break Lines; Cutting Planes and Section Lines; Blueprint Dimensions; Types of Dimensions; Uses of Dimensions; The Title and Change Blocks; Use of Scale; Use of Tolerances.

Root Cause Analysis

The 1 Day Work Shop is a combination of “Class Room” learning with “Exercises” on the application of Root Cause Analysis Tools and concepts.  Students will receive: “Step by Step Problem Solving” by Richard Chang; a Student Manual along with Pareto & Ishikawa Exercises.

A two day Hands-on Workshop to Train a Team of between 4-12 Participants in the 7 Step Process of Root Cause Problem Solving. The workshop uses a "Real Problem" in the company and utilizes Teamwork; Data; and a Systematic Approach to achieve maximum results. Tools such as Brainstorming, SWOT Analysis, Pareto Chart, Fishbone Diagram, Nominal Group Technique, Impact analysis, etc. will be used in exercises and practically applied to real problems in the workshop.

Creation of Part Numbering Matrices for manufactured, purchased, and raw material codes, would be used with Smart Numbers with the ability to track from engineering though manufacturing, to marketing, and sales.

Training on how to use the CAD tools and the BOM to produce products more efficiently at lower cost.  Use of these tools to determine the best material selection, and most efficient assembly sequences.
